Seven years designing digital products, three of them on a B2B payments platform in the United States that moves over $100M a month, and on a lending CRM in Peru where the AI layer I built took advisor ramp-up from months to day one. I design the product, build the front end, and stay on it through to production.

I am Joel Salcedo, a product designer and design engineer based in Montería, Colombia. Seven years in the field, three of them in fintech, building B2B payments in the United States and mortgage-backed lending in Peru.
I design the product and then build it. I own the front end where I work now, lead a QA team and two developers, and review front-end tickets before they enter development. I build the AI that goes inside the product, and I prototype with AI during discovery so we find out an idea is wrong before it costs a sprint. On my own time I ship iOS apps in Swift and SwiftUI to the App Store.

06/2024 – Present
Product Designer · Design Expert, AI & Product Design
Mortgage-backed lending fintech · Lima, Peru (remote)
Designed and shipped the CRM used daily by 60 sales, risk and collections advisors, and cut time from loan application to disbursement from 30 days to 10.
Embedded an AI model that processes the information and structures the advisor’s workflow. What used to take months of training is usable on day one, and the same approach now runs in collections and risk.
I own the product’s front end, lead a QA team and two developers, and review every front-end ticket before it enters development.
I run discovery with the business teams, review the data model with backend on GraphQL queries and mutations, and stay on the build through to production. The project was acquired by another company to run in Mexico.

Senior Product Designer · Design Lead
CashCloud (Printech) · Miami, FL, USA (remote)
Led design for a B2B payments platform used by hundreds of companies, moving over $100M a month in payment transactions.
Built its intelligent ACH service, with bank verification before the payment is issued and automated returns and reconciliation, payment-method switching on already-issued transactions, and nationwide check printing and mailing.
Built payee onboarding, the studio where each client designs its own checks, the internal super-admin with ledger and subledger, and the connection flow for QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, SAP, Dynamics 365 and Sage Intacct.
Joined to design one mobile screen; fifteen months later I led design across web, iOS and Android. Close to 100 customer interviews, SOC 2 compliance, and hands on the Angular codebase.
02/2023 – 10/2023
UI/UX Designer
Inlaze · Bogotá, Colombia
Designed the affiliate CRM from concept to first production release, a product the company did not previously have.
Through that CRM, affiliates started managing and collecting the commissions generated by the betting activity of the clients they referred.
Built the product’s design system from scratch, in a two-person design team covering research, definition and interface.
Delivered within the scope and timeline of the contract.

Delivered 10 end-to-end digital projects for ecommerce and other sector clients.
Full cycle on each one: research, product definition, interface design, prototyping and documented handoff to development.
Coordinated with the developers during implementation so the build stayed faithful to the design I delivered.

Web Developer and UX Designer
Vitola SAS · Colombia
Designed and developed the brand’s custom ecommerce from scratch, moving the catalog of 17 physical stores into a single digital channel.
Sole owner of UX/UI design and front-end development, working alongside one infrastructure and server engineer.
Two years on the project, from research and information architecture through to production.
The digital channel generated sales for the brand from launch, and I reported directly to company leadership.
